How to Describe Your Items

A key part of preparing your items for the sale is entering them into the system with proper and clear descriptions.  With only two lines of text open for use it can be a bit daunting to figure out what to write and how much information to include.  What is important to remember is the tag may become separated from the item, and if this is the case you want your description to be clear and concise enough that it can be located in the database.

To make it easier on everyone some basic guidelines have been set to help you in your tagging.

COLORS:
Red
Pink
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Purple
Brown
Gray
Black
White
Khaki

 Please do not use colors like “tangerine” or “salmon” while you may feel this describes your item better than orange or pink it makes it very difficult to search as it gives limitless possibilities.

Acceptable Brand Abreviations
Old Navy = ON
The Children’s Place = TCP
Janie & Jack = J&J
Gymboree = Gymbo
Mini Boden = Boden
Corky & Co = Corky
Hanna Anderson = Hanna
Gap = Gap (sorry some you just can’t shorten)
Limited Too = L2
American Eagle = AE
Aeropostale =Aero
Granimals=Gran

Use the abbreviations ls for long sleeve and ss for short sleeve

It is important that there is a space between each word. If all the words run together the tags/description will not be searchable.

Do not use symbols or slashes (i.e. red/yellow) in your description just use spaces (red yellow).

Put the brand name and number of pieces, if it is a set, in the first line and describe the item in the second line Make sure you select the proper size and gender for your item.

Remember the data base is great, but it is not Google, if tags are spelled or formatted incorrectly they will not be found.

Tag Examples:
